Word of the Year: 2019

Hi friends! I hope your 2019 is off to a good start and full of excitement and promise of a new year. I love to choose a word for the year that inspires me to focus on a certain area. I’ve shared with you my 2017 and 2018 word of the year and this year I’ve chosen RUN.

My reasoning for RUN is actually two-fold: 1. the action of physically running and 2. the intrinsic nature of running after something.

So first of all, I love to physically run. I started running back in high school and up until the beginning of 2018, truly enjoyed going out for a run. Then I dropped a shelf on my foot in January of 2018 and had to take off two months from running. But then I started back running before it was fully healed and ultimately messed up my running stride and therefore my knee and hip. All that to say- I haven’t run since April of ’18 and it is something I want to rehab my way back to. I don’t have a desire to run distance anymore but at least a few miles without joint pain.

Okay and then my 2nd reason for run is because I feel like the last 2 years have been preparing me to internally run after the dreams in my heart. To truly chase what has been developing and growing in me and pursue my goals and dreams. I know that will also require patience and being still but I want to stay focused, strive for more and pursue with all my heart, the dreams I have within me.

I can’t wait to look back at the end of the year and see what this word truly meant for me. What’s your word for the year?
